House Plant Week
CoLab is a space filled with houseplants, ranging from the tiny cutting to the magnificent palm tree, constantly budding in the atrium.
A previous CEO of CoLab had a passion for plants, they built up a fabulous collection, which has continued to flourish and grow.
We have a thriving culture of sharing cuttings, asking staff if they would like a plant on their desk to nurture and enjoy and chatting about the care of the plants.
There is no doubt that a workplace filled with light and plants as CoLab is, brings emotional benefits to everyone who visits or works here.
There is always an intake of breath and a look of joy on visitors faces as they enter the space for the first time. It is not something we take for granted here, the plants quickly let us know if they need some extra TLC, or a plant unexpectedly flowers.
We have many varieties of houseplants here, some thrive better than others, but they all bring rewards, my absolute favourite is the fern, which has the most delicate fronds, which has grown with wild abandon from a tiny stem and brings endless pleasure to me and others. It is beautiful to look at, wonderful to touch and grows madly in all directions.
