Musings from the CoLab Kitchen

I have been reflecting on my interactions with others in the CoLab kitchen, which is an open plan area in the centre of the building. It is where all life happens, there are dramas, laughter and tears playing out whilst brewing a cuppa or sloshing about in the washing up bowl.

This week I have talked about:

  • Is it Teal or is it Turquoise?

  • Agreeing that it is jam first then clotted cream, to boos and hisses from the committed Devonian hubmates amongst us.

  • Sultanas are wrong in a scone where cream tea is concerned. We love our cream teas care of  CoLab.

  • The joy of a beautiful mug. HK Living is our favourite place, check it out.

  • Learning and using the plunging sink technique for a blocked sink to great success.

  • Commiserating with anyone and everyone on how cold it is in CoLab and how many layers we have on. A CoLab cardi. Is an essential on the back of the chair.

  • Commenting on the weather generally, daily, hour by hour, minute by minute.

  • Enjoying reading a T shirt with an amusing slogan.

  • The ills of Spice. Enough said.

  • Non veggie pot noodles, it pays to read the label.

  • The importance of Tattoos. There is a story behind every one.

  • Implementing CoLab’s Policies and Procedures effectively, we can be serious.

You get the drift…

Most importantly, it plays a significant part in our wellbeing, giving us an opportunity to express our emotions, connect with colleagues and come away feeling lighter in spirit.
